English Definition: According to Vasubandhu’s Abhidharmakośa, one of the six categories in which the 46 mental factors are classified. It contains ten mental factors: sensation, volition, perception, interest, contact, wisdom, mindfulness, attention, regard, and concentration. They are present in every type of mind and are difficult to differentiate experientially, and need to be known from trustworthy scriptures (like the Sutra on the Foundations of Mindfulness).
