English term: Impermanence
English definition: One of the four characteristics of the first noble truth of suffering. Impermanence means that all experience in the realm of conditioned existence is compounded by causes and conditions, and therefore uncertain and impermanent. In the context of the fourth of the five aggregates, formative factors, it is one of the formative factors not associated with mind and it is described a force that terminates a phenomenon, which can also be understood as “ceasing”. It is one of the four forces governing all conditioned phenomena.
