ākiṃcanyāyatana
Tibetan: ཅི་ཡང་མེད་པའི་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་
Tibetan (Wylie): ci yang med pa’i skye mched
Tibetan (phonetics): chi yang me pa’i kye che
English term: Nothing Whatsoever
Alternative: Complete Nothingness
English definition: The third of the four formless absorptions and its resultant formless realm of existence. The third formless meditative absorption, so termed because in its preparatory phase absolute nothingness is the object of meditation. The thought “everything is consciousness” from the previous absorption is seen as a fault and thus one develops the samadhi that there is actually nothing whatsoever. The base is either a. taking rebirth in the third meditative absorption of the Formless Realms or b. a lower being possessing a physical support entering into the meditative absorptions of the third meditative absorption of the Formless Realm.
Spanish: Completamente Nada
